OligoWiz Client - History ------------------------- v.1.0.8 - 9th of April 2003 --------------------------- Fixed a bug which made it impossible to change the weights of the scores. Added an easy way to open the OligoWiz help web-page in an external browser through the "Help" menu option. Broswing for Fasta files now includes both *.fsa and *.fsa.txt in the file filter. We added this feature because Internet Explorer tends to put an *.txt extension to downloaded Fasta files. v.1.0.7 - 7th of April 2003 --------------------------- A Help dialog have been added to the menu: ------------------------------------------ The help page contains links to the OligoWiz web page and directly to the OligoWiz intruction page. Handling of files rewritten: ---------------------------- The handling of files have been completely rewritten. This is mostly an internal improvement. The rewrite have led to the following changes: *) The system now forces all project / data files to be located in the same directory as the original Fasta file. This solves a number of problems related to different file structures on different platforms. The file dialogs have been changed to support this feature. *) Better handling of filenames on all platforms (Unix, Mac, Windows etc). *) Fixed a problem with saving projects. Handling of projects: --------------------- *) Fixed an issue where a project would rapport to be modified even if it was not the case. *) When closing the application it is rapported if there are any modified projects that needs to be saved. *) If a project title is defined it is shown on the tab instead of the filename Loading data / projects *) The progress of the loading is shown in the title of the tab e.g. Loading [53/217] Retrieving data: ---------------- *) Fixed a rare issue where long Owz data files would be truncated during transfer from the OligoWiz server. *) When an query is imported from email, the user is promted for a filename when the entire result have been transfer from the server (the old behavior was to automatically generate an unique filename). v.1.0.6 - 17th of March 2003 ---------------------------- New way of handling FASTA files: Instead of using the names of the sequence entries for cross-reference, a CRC32 checksum is calculated from the sequence itself, and is used instead. This apporoach eliminates issues with malformed names and entries where the name is longer than BLAST accepts. The changes is transparent for the user, and the OligoWiz client is backward compatible with old OWZ data files. The file browser dialog has been improved and better descriptions have been added. Internal improvement: Handling of debug information has been rewritten. The public releases no longer prints debug info. v.1.0.5 - 8th of March 2003 --------------------------- Works with the new way the server delivers the query result: Instead og sending an email pointing directly to the query result output (which is not human readable), the oligoWiz server now generated a web-page with a intructions on how to download and handle the result. It is still recommended to let the OligoWiz client program retrieve the query result via the "import from email" function. Quite a few improvements in the query page: * The import from email funtions now on the entire URL - or a part there of. * Fixed some file related issues when cloning. * A unique Owz filename is suggested automatically, and the Owz filename is generally handled better. * Disabled "Submit" of queries with out a Fasta file. * Added a browse button to the Owz file input field. Graph page: * The graph area has been enlarged, and the graph it self have been slightly re-positioned. v.1.0.4 - 10th of February 2003 ------------------------------- Manually entering a species name is now disabled, since it only makes sense to pick a species the server knows about. v.1.0.3 - 10th of February 2003 ------------------------------- Fixed a condition where an error message from the OligoWiz server was not picked up and handled correctly. v.1.0.2 - feb 2003 ------------------ Small fixes v.1.0.1 - Jan 2003 ------------------ Small fixes v.1.0.0 - Jan 2003 ------------------ First public available version
